Night Time Makeup Shoot
The lovely and talented Bri and I got together for an indoor night shoot last week and boy, was it splendid! Bri is one of my oldest and closet friends and I adore creating art with her. She often doesn't give herself enough credit in the talent department so I'll do it for her...Ladies and Gents, someday you will hear her name and it will be synonymous with the likes of Annie Leibovitz, Tim Walker, Nick Knight, and Patrick Demarchelier. (Sorry Bri, I only know fashion photographers).
If you're interested in the photography elements of the shoot, head over to Bri's post about the shoot.
These next shots (images 1 and 3) are from a "shoot" we did in tenth grade (See? We've always been dabbling in our fields :). The 2nd and 4th images are our recreation of them. I think it's fascinating to see how much I've changed.
Is it possible to be TOO passionate? I think not. I have passion for shoots flowing out my ears :). That made more sense in my head. Anyway.
Until next time,

Revisiting the 60's
I love all things 60's, especially the makeup. It's dramatic, eye-popping, and f-u-n. This style was inspired by a host of looks I have seen but I drew most inspiration from this picture:
I was especially drawn to the two long, black eyeliner wings with white liner drawn between for more definition. My camera did not pick up the white liner on my *very* fair face but, trust me, twas there indeed! And since my mood dictates my look EVERY DAY, I topped my face off with fuchsia lipstick.
There you have it!
I'm pretty stoked about my next post because it involves night photography, my dahling (Purposely spelled it that way!) friend Bri (a stellar photographer), and makeup. Also because, simply put, it's swell.
Later tater!

Makeup For a Splendid Day
I had just enough time before I left for work to snap some shots of this look. I was in the mood for a darker lid and nude lips, that's when I feel most like Mollie. I don't know if if was the makeup but the rest of that day was absolutely splendid (hence the title). Actually it was God's tremendous blessing over me. He is good indeed. This is a season of blessing! (I styled my hair right after this-can't sell wedding gowns looking frazzled!)
I created the eye using the Lorac evening palette I received for Christmas. I mixed a gray with red wine color and topped it off with my Sephora waterproof kohl eyeliner in brown and black. (Black on top, and a mix of the brown and black on the bottom lid). The lips are Buxom's Big and Healthy Lipstick in Sydney. I bought NARS illuminator in Copacabana this week and I adore it. Though I love my fair skin, the winter shade can get very dull and this gives the perfect amount of shimmer. I like that it brightens my face without looking like I rolled in glitter. It's a grand item to own!
Have a swell week!

Pop Goes the Color
This was an awkward pose day for me. I wasn't "in the mood", therefore I gawked and felt like what I imagine models feel on their first big shoot. I hope they at least start out as gangly as I was. They better not be perfect from day one. Sheesh.
As I sit an type this from a school computer I am amused at all the college "fashion" I see. Some of the trends are stylish and I like them, but most, I abhor. We all have frantic, I-woke-up-minutes-before-class-started or late nights, but I don't count laziness as a fashion statement. I am tired of three times your size Greek tees, Uggs, hobo hair (as I fondly call it), and gym shorts (sadly that is the abbreviated list). Even winter can't keep ladies from wearing gym shorts-that's not why leggings were created, silly!
Am I snobby? Probably. Ok, yes. But I think of it as being Parisian at heart. Dress your best (almost) every day. It's what makes life interesting!
Until next time,
Molls

2012 Color of the Year
Pantone announced the 2012 Color of the year....drum roll...Tangerine Tango! Orange has received a bad rap over the years, but once you see the unlimited options this shade provides, you might rethink the preconceived notions. Feast your eyes on this sumptuous and sultry color and allow me to change your mind:

| via Glamour (Charlotte Ronson, Tommy Hilfiger, Peter Som, Derek Lam) The grand thing about this color is that it transitions well from summer to autumn. My tangerine-esque summer dress (pictured above) was great for summer, and now it layers very well for fall and winter. I'll show pictures soon! What do YOU think of the chosen color? Molls |

Which Ever Way The Wind Blows
I'm very much enjoying my winter fair skin. I sort of want it to get whiter. Though in these pictures it comes across lighter than it actually is. At work I hear the constant complaint, "I'm so white, I need to tan!!" and of course I roll my eyes. Fair skin rocks ladies. Be proud!
This was a normal day for me but I especially liked my makeup so I wanted to share. I'm wearing Lorac eyeshadow, Sephora water proof kohl liner in Flashy Green (on bottom lashes), and Maybelline lipstick in Eternal. I'm in my colored eyeliner mood of late so there will be more posts accordingly!
I may look serious, but I was having a splendid day :)

Weekend Escapades
I had a lovely weekend visiting my friend Jana and went to a seminar at my old design school by Jamileh Kamran. It was splendid to see Ms. Kamran and Ms. Edna again and to meet other students.
I had the honor of speaking to the group about what I have done since attending the school. (coughLondoncough :) There was a show at the end and I walked with the piece I made from my Creative Drape class in London. Gahhhh it was fun!

Jana and I dressed up on Sunday for brunch and French studying. We firmly believe that dressing up cheers up a drizzly study day.
It was a swell break from finals and now the seriousness begins. So cheers for fun times!!
Mollie
